TASTING NOTE: This blend of 54% Cabernet Sauvignon and 46% Merlot is from the \"classic\" 2004 vintage - so called because though, relatively speaking, it is not one of Bordeaux's greatest, it was a vintage that delivered the elegance and finesse one expects from this iconic region. As the 2004s have aged, they have evolved into truly charming wines. This one has mature notes of leather and meat tones emerging through tobacco, earth and the still present dark fruit. It has held together very well, offering fine balance and integration. (Vintages panel, March 2017) |
