Very deep intense purple colour. Fairly cedary, ripe plum-cherry fruit on the nose with some spicy, mineral notes and a touch of white pepper. Dry, medium to medium-full bodied, quite well structured, fairly dense, bright, plum-raspberry-cherry flavours with a lingering, crisp, somewhat cedary, high acid, faintly peppery finish. Has 14.5% alcohol and 4 g/L residual sugar. TONY ASPLER / 90-points / TRY - Cedary, blueberry and pie crust nose; full-bodied, dry, elegant, firmly structured with a long finish; chewy tannins. Freemark Abbey dates its winemaking heritage back to 1881, when Josephine and John Tychson first began making wines here. After John's death, Josephine continued to work the vineyard, becoming California's first female winemaker. Sourced from sites across Napa Valley, this will be rich and integrated, with oak spice, chocolate notes and complex herbal tones.
