Deep intense purple colour. Spicy, somewhat cedary, baked plum-cherry nose with some sandalwood notes. Dry, medium bodied, slightly spicy, gently juicy, ripe plum-cherry flavours with a lingering, fairly high acid, slightly cedary finish. This field blend of more than 40 different varieties has 13.5% alcohol and 11 g/L residual sugar. TONY ASPLER / 87-points - Spicy nose of plum, moist earth and old oak; medium-bodied, dry, plum flavour with lively acidity. Very decent value. TASTING NOTE: Six months in a mix of French and Portuguese oak has given this wine a rich, smooth character. Produced from a field blend of more than 40 different varieties, the wine is stylishly structured and ripe with blackberry fruits.
