Slightly ambering deep brick red colour. Spicy, mature, bricky plum nose with some sandalwood notes. Dry, medium bodied, tangy, dried plum-cherry flavours with lots of sandalwood notes on the lingering, high acid finish. Has 14% alcohol and 4 g/L residual sugar. with a recent lot number L7160 on the back label. the Vintages Catalogue quotes a 92-point score from May 1, 2016. I don’t think so - no trace of “juicy black cherry” remains. CSPC 515478

TASTING NOTE: Ripe black-skinned berry, truffle, scorched soil, violet and a potpourri of kitchen spice are some of the aromas that emerge on this polished red. The smooth, delicious palate doles out juicy black cherry, black raspberry, licorice and chopped mint set in a framework of silky, supple tannins. Enjoy through 2018. Editors' Choice.
