Very deep purple colour. Spicy, ripe plum-cherry nose with some cedar-sandalwood notes. Dry, medium bodied, quite well structured, slightly spicy, fairly intense, plum-cherry flavours with a tangy, sandalwood-tinged, fairly high acid, somewhat peppery finish. Has 13.5% alcohol and 3 g/L residual sugar with lot number L6139 on the lower part of the glass bottle. The recommended 2012 (***) with 91-points was released on April 15, 2017 at $29.95. |

TASTING NOTE: The 2013 Chianti Rufina Riserva Nipozzano Vecchie Viti is elegant and sophisticated with mild and somewhat tame intensity all the while. This wine hits all the right sweet spots as a food-friendly Tuscan red that would taste great next to pasta with wild boar ragù. I enjoyed the linearity, honesty and the straightforward nature of this wine. Score - 92 (Monica Larner, robertparker.com, Oct. 28, 2016) |
