SKETCHES OF NIAGARA CABERNET/MERLOT 2012 VQA Niagara Peninsula
Vintage Assessments Tasting Note Producer TAWSE
Fairly deep purple colour. Slightly spicy, plum-cherry-apple nose with some cedar notes. Dry, medium bodied, slightly spicy, tangy, plum-apple-cherry flavours with a lingering, very crisp, cedar-tinged finish. This blend of 77% Cabernet Franc, 15% Merlot and 8% Cabernet Sauvignon has 13% alcohol and 4 g/L residual sugar. . This second REPEAT is definitely not up to the 2012 (**) that was last released on April 1, 2017 at $20.95 - beware of ancient glowing tasting notes. CSPC 130252

TASTING NOTE: The nose is impressive on this wine. Blackberry, Black Currant, Plum, Strawberry, Dark Cherry, and Wood Smoke all make their way out of the glass. We really aren't going to see too many more wines from the stellar 2012 vintage hitting the market and it was a terrific year for full bodied red wines. The flavours on this wine match the nose with soft tannin on the finish. Score - 4 Stars (out of 5) (André Proulx, andrewinereview.ca, May 13, 2016) Price $ 21.95
