TASTING NOTE: There is one blend in the Críos range, and I tasted the 2016 Críos Red Blend, a wine that sells quickly ... mainly Malbec with 22% Syrah and 5% Petit Verdot. This has also moved to being 100% grapes from Valle de Uco, and as the rest of the range (or part of it anyway), it had a soft élevage of nine months in neutral oak barrels. It has good complexity and the different grapes add different nuances, with meatiness and juiciness from the Syrah, some darker aromas from the Petit Verdot and the violets and peach from Malbec. Tasty, with very fine tannins, a blend for the table. Drink Date: [through] 2017. Score - 89-91 (Luis Gutierrez, robertparker.com, Dec. 30, 2016) |
