PEDRO XIMENEZ DE AÑADA 2014 DOP Montilla-Moriles |
Vintage Assessments Tasting Note |
Producer |
ALVEAR |
Medium orange colour. Intense, very sweet, honeyed, Seville orange marmalade notes. Very sweet, medium-full bodied, dense, harmonious, viscous, juicy, intense, ripe plummy-apple purée, Seville orange marmalade and raisin pie flavours with a lingering, toasty, caramel-toffee, fig jam finish. Has 16% alcohol and a whopping 415 g/L residual sugar with lot number L7124 on the back label. This will last forever, some if you know someone born in 2014 buy them a case of 6 for upcoming birthdays. Believe it or not, if kept properly and barring any cork issues, this could last for 90 years and will even get better as time passes. |

TASTING NOTE: The 2014 Pedro Ximenez de Anada is dark amber and sweet, with notes of honeyed figs, maple syrup, toffee and almond liqueur. It is rich and unctuous, very full-bodied and a serious decadent elixir. It should last for 20-30 years, or more. Drink 2016-2046. Score - 96 (Robert Parker Jr., robertparker.com, Nov. 29, 2015) |
