QUINTA DO BOMFIM VINTAGE PORT 2005 Bottled in 2007, DOP |
Vintage Assessments Tasting Note |
Producer |
DOW'S |
Very deep intense purple colour. Sweet, spicy, baked plum nose with some cedary mocha notes. Sweet, medium bodied, slightly spicy, somewhat floral, fairly intense, baked plum flavours with a lingering, gently cedary finish. Has 20% alcohol and 99 g/L residual sugar with lot number L171612 on the back label. Unfortunately, the bottle of 2005 sampled was not at all up to the 2004 (***) with 90-points that was released on April 2, 2016 at $29.95 with different cspc 8193.. Therefor, this is not New in Vintages - the 2004 and 1996 have appeared in the past. |

TASTING NOTE: Marzipan and black fruits with a bitter liquorice through the mid palate. Spiced and tense, warming, but fresh, lots of candied sweetness. Score - Silver Medal (International Wine Challenge, 2016) |
