| Extremely deep intense purple colour. Attractive, gently spicy, faintly complex, plummy, ripe, black cherry nose with some cedary, faint mocha-chocolate notes. Dry, medium bodied, quite well structured, harmonious, lush, ripe, plum-cherry flavours with a lingering, very bright, cedary, mocha-tiinged finish. Gets better as it is permitted to breathe! Has 14% alcohol and 7 g/L residual sugar with lot number L-17061 on the back label along and a screwcap closure. This 100% Malbec is a blend from three Mendoza climats and has been aged for 9 months in 60% American and 40% French oak all medium toast. Rated as a top buy at the recent comparative Mendoza Malbec tasting held at IWEG on September 19. TONY ASPLER / 89-points / BEST BUY - Smoky, struck flint, plum and cherry on the nose; full-bodied, dry, savoury-herbal blackberry and plum flavours with a floral note, lively acidity and a firm finish. Decant - improves with breathing. |
