CHÂTEAU RIVES-BLANQUES |
Bright light straw colour. Slightly spicy, mature, baked apple nose. Off dry, medium to medium-light bodied, spicy, ripe apple-melon flavours with a fairly crisp, unoaked finish. Occitania was Limoux’s first modern non-sparkling white wine made from Mauzac - the traditional Renaissance grape variety. It has 13% alcohol and 2 g/L residual sugar. TONY ASPLER / 88.5-points - High-toned, baked citrus peel nose with a barnyard note; medium-bodied, dry, herbal, quince flavour with lively acidity. |

TASTING NOTE: A young wine that needs time to flesh out, this currently offers intense notes of garrigue and fresh, green herbs that are framed by fruity tones of green plum and lime leaf. Tart citrus, pear and underripe stone fruit flavors unfold on the medium-weight palate, with hints of hay and beeswax on the finish. Drink 2018-2022. Editors' Choice. Score - 90 (Lauren Buzzeo, Wine Enthusiast, Nov. 1, 2016) |
