Extremely deep intense purple colour. Intense, sweetish, complex, slightly leathery, spicy, plum puree nose with some cedary notes. Fairly dry, medium-full bodied, intense, complex, well structured, slightly spicy, extracty, ripe plum-cherry puree flavours with a lingering, sandalwood-cedar, fairly high acid finish. Has 15.5% alcohol and 9 g/L residual sugar. TONY ASPLER / 93-points / BUY - Spicy plum and blackberry nose with vanilla oak notes; full-bodied, richly extracted flavours of sweet date and coffee bean with balancing acidity. A pleasure to drink. |

The Armaron vineyard is believed to be the root of the Amarone name, while Dante Alighieri, the author of The Divine Comedy and the father of the modern Italian language, is namesake for the wine. Vintage after vintage, this wine is intense yet elegant, with a velvety texture, complex black fruit and spice notes with chocolate and tobacco undertones. |
