DOM PÉRIGNON LUMINOUS BRUT CHAMPAGNE 2006 AC |

This REPEAT was not presented at the press and/or consultants preview in the LCBO lab. Here is my previous tasting note from October 1, 2016 ($251.95): Bright medium straw colour. Lovely, intense, complex, gently toasty, warm brioche nose with some lemon meringue notes. Dry, medium to medium-full bodied, well structured, harmonious, very slightly spicy, ripe lemon meringue flavours with a lingering, complex, gently toasty, tangy, mineral-tinged finish. TONY ASPLER / 96-points / BUY - Smoky, toasty, apple nose; light to medium-bodied, dry, elegant, beautifully balanced. Dances on the palate with lemony, green apple flavours and linger forever. A supreme champagne. Has 12.5% alcohol and 6 g/L residual sugar with lot number LAJEH on the back label. You can now press a battery button in the bottom of the bottle, which lights up the bright lime green Don Perignon label so you can see it a black room. |

TASTING NOTE: A graceful, minerally version, featuring rich notes of smoke, mandarin orange peel and chalk that lead to subtle accents of crème de cassis, toasted almond, espresso and star anise on the fine, creamy mousse. Seamlessly knit, with citrusy acidity leaving a mouthwatering impression on the finish. Drink now through 2031. Collectibles. Score - 95 (Alison Napjus, winespectator.com, March 31, 2016) |
