WESTSIDE ZINFANDEL 2014 Paso Robles
Vintage Assessments Tasting Note Producer PEACHY CANYON
Deep intense purple colour. Very spicy, juicy, sweetish, plummy, curried-lime-pickle nose with some cedary, dried apricot-peach notes. Off dry, medium bodied, bright, juicy, slightly baked, ripe plum-cherry-apricot puree flavours with a lingering, sweetish, cedary finish. Has 14.8% alcohol and 2 g/L residual sugar. It is definitely not my style of Zin - tasted twice - a tad betted than the 2011 (*/*+) with 84-points released on November 26, 2013 at $26.95. A pass for me. CSPC 930644

TASTING NOTE: This well-priced wine shows deep aromas of blackcurrant and kirsch bolstered by soft cola, clove and sassafras notes. The palate is framed by a rocky, volcanic minerality and seductive structure that unveils vanilla, minty herbs and rich rhubarb. Editors' Choice.
