MERLOT 2014 California
Vintage Assessments Tasting Note Producer JOEL GOTT
Fairly deep purple colour. Intense, juicy, spicy, ripe plum-cherry nose with some faint cedar notes. Fairly dry, medium bodied, tangy, spicy, juicy, very ripe cherry-plum-apple puree flavours with a lingering, slightly cedary finish. Ready-to-drink. Still seems to taste a bit more like a Zin than a Merlot! Has 13.5% alcohol and 2 g/L residual sugar with lot number 0700350161 on the back label. TONY ASPLER / 88.5-points - Cedary, herbal, blackberry bouquet; full-bodied, creamy mouth-feel; full-bodied, dry, spicy blueberry and citrus flavours spiked with vanilla oak. CSPC 479121

TASTING NOTE: Freshly cut wood, black raspberries and wild blueberries all play on the nose. The flavors are bright in the mouth with pomegranate molasses, dry orange zest, cinnamon, nutmeg and a whisper of vanilla. A long finish is supple on the palate. Excellent. Highly Recommended.
