PINOT NOIR 2013 VQA Niagara Peninsula
Vintage Assessments Tasting Note Producer LEANING POST
Light ambering brick red colour. Spicy, dusty, dried apple-plum nose with some sandalwood notes. Dry, medium-light bodied, very tangy, slightly spicy, baked plum-apple flavours with a lingering, gently cedary, somewhat herbal, sandalwood, high acid finish. Only 220 cases made. Tasted twice - I am not keen. Has 12.5% alcohol and 3 g/L residual sugar. CSPC 523183

TASTING NOTE: Produced from a blend of fruit sourced from three vineyards - Wismer, Queenston, Lowrey - this is a light-medium bodied, old-world style Pinot Noir. Showcasing aromas and flavours of sun-ripened red berries, earth, herbs and spice, it has a smooth, silky texture. Slight toasty notes mingle with notions of earth on the flavourful aftertaste. It's a great match for grilled salmon or duck confit. Score - 4 Stars (out of 5) (Susan Desjardins, winecurrent.com, April 24, 2017) Price $ 30.20
