Vintage Assessments Tasting Note |
Producer |
COLCHESTER RIDGE |
Slightly spicy, ripe apple puree nose with some hints of lemon meringue and toast. Dry, medium to medium-light bodied, quite well structured, slightly spicy, ripe apple-melon puree flavours with a lingering, fairly high acid, gently cedary finish. Ready-to-drink. This “small lot” of 240 cases has 13.7% alcohol and 2 g/L residual sugar with a screwcap closure. TONY ASPLER / 87-points - Apple and melon skin n the nose; medium-bodied, dry, richly extracted and slightly sweet apple flavour; soft on the palate with just a touch of bitterness on the finish for added interest. |

TASTING NOTE: Bernard Gorski grew up in Southern Ontario as part of a farming family, and he now tends vines and makes estate-grown wines in Lake Erie North Shore. This Chardonnay was hand-harvested, barrel-fermented and aged 8 months on the lees in barrel. It's soft and round, with notions of baked apple, coconut, vanilla, butter cream and spice.
