CELLIER DES PRINCES |
Fairly deep purple red colour. Fairly intense, slightly spicy, elegant, red brick-tinged, plum-cherry puree nose with some cedary notes. Dry, medium bodied, well structured, slightly spicy, bright, ripe black cherry-plum flavours with a lingering, gently cedary, high acid finish. This blend of Grenache, Syrah and Mourvèdre has 14% alcohol and 3 g/L residual sugar. TONY ASPLER / 88-points - Cedary, red berry nose with a spicy oak note; medium to full-bodied, dry, firmly structured, lean and sinewy with lively acidity. Lacks the heft of most Chateauneufs. |

TASTING NOTE: Mild plum red robe. This has a typical 2014 aroma of lightly sweet red berry fruit, a joli plump ball of coulis fruit at its centre. The palate is also soft, plump, quietly stylish, and easy to drink. There is a slight \"high\" note to the red fruits. The tannins are well absorbed. 14°. Early wine - from mid 2016. 2024-25. Score - 3 Stars (out of 6) (John Livingstone-Learmonth, drinkrhone.com, Oct. 2015) |
