TERROIR AMERICAN OAK CHARDONNAY 2015 VQA Niagara-on-the-Lake
Vintage Assessments Tasting Note Producer STREWN
Forward bright medium yellow colour. Intense, complex, spicy, baked lemon nose with lots of cedary notes. Fairly dry, medium-full bodied, dense, spicy, coconut-driven, baked lemon-meringue flavours with a lingering, very toasty, still fairly high acid finish. Ready-to-drink and definitely not for seafood - it’s too toasty for me. The 2012 (**/**+) was released on January 24, 2015 at $24.95. CSPC 405530

TASTING NOTE: The American oak influence really comes through here - with coconut, vanilla and caramel joining the toasty apple and wood spice tones. Fresh and lively, with a creamy, rich texture and a coconut cream pie finish. This is a wine of considerable depth and complexity. Very impressive. Enjoy with barbecued chicken or grilled pork ribs.
