Vintage Assessments Tasting Note |
Producer |
GRAHAM BECK |
Very pale salmon colour. Very attractive, fairly spicy, bright, ripe plum-cherry nose with some mineral notes. Dry, medium bodied, gently juicy, ripe plum-cherry-raspberry flavours with a lingering, crisp, gently complex, high acid finish. This 2011 blend of 80% Pinot Noir and 20% Chardonnay has has 12% alcohol and only 9 g/L residual sugar with lot number L17101 on the back label which indicates that this specific batch was disgorged in March 2017 meaning that it had 5 years on the lees! What a deal - don’t miss it. TONY ASPLER / 89-points / BEST BUY - A nose of red plums with a touch of spice and mineral notes; medium-bodied, mature, nutty, apple and plum flavours with good length. The recommended best buy 2010 (***) was released on June 11, 2016 at $21.95. |

Disgorged March 2017, Méthode Cap Classique, WO Western Cape The Western Cape is home to nearly 90% of South Africa’s wine industry and encompasses the wine-producing areas of the Breede River Valley, Stellenbosch and Paarl, among others. TASTING NOTE: The 2011 Brut Rose is a blend of 80% Pinot Noir and 20% Chardonnay, containing slightly less residual sugar than the current non-vintage Rosé. It offers appealing orange blossom and rose petal scents that gradually gain momentum in the glass. The palate has a soft opening, yet fine tension, some lovely white peach, orange zest and apricot notes with a finely tuned, very elegant finish. This delicious sparkling rosé should be consumed over the next 4-6 years. Drink Date: 2017- 2022. Score: 90 (Neal Martin, robertparker.com, April 28, 2017) |
