Vintage Assessments Tasting Note |
Producer |
THORN-CLARKE |
Extremely deep intense purple colour. Attractive, intense, gently juicy, spicy, cedar-driven, black cherry puree nose. Fairly dry, medium to medium-full bodied, well structured, intense, harmonious, warm ripe cherry-plum puree flavours with a lingering, mocha-chocolate-cedar-tinged, fairly high acid finish. Similar to the recommended 2013 (**+) released on April 2, 2016 at $21.95. TONY ASPLER: 89 - BEST BUY - Dense purple-black colour; spicy, minty, black currant bouquet with vanilla oak; full-bodied, richly extracted, sweet black currant fruit with milk chocolate notes. A satisfying firm finish with unresolved tannins. Hold at least 2 years. Has 14.5% alcohol and now has only 3 g/L residual sugar with a screwcap closure. |
