Deep purple-red colour. Slightly spicy, cedary, ripe plum-cherry purée nose. Dry, medium bodied, slightly spicy, bright, ripe plum-cherry-cassis flavours with a lingering, gently cedary, fairly high acid finish. TONY ASPLER / 89.5-points / BUY - Dense purple colour; cedary, blackcurrant nose with a vanilla oak note; medium-bodied, dry, elegant, beautifully balanced claret-style wine, firmly structured with good length. TASTING NOTE: Franklin Tate Estates is based in the Margaret River region of Western Australia, where Bordeaux blends are the signature style. This one is 53% Cabernet Sauvignon and 47% Merlot aged in predominantly French oak. It offers purple flowers, bright cherry, plum, cassis and cola on a restrained and elegant frame.
