TASTING NOTE: Franklin Tate Estates is based in the Margaret River region of Western Australia, where Bordeaux blends are the signature style. This one is 53% Cabernet Sauvignon and 47% Merlot aged in predominantly French oak. It offers purple flowers, bright cherry, plum, cassis and cola on a restrained and elegant frame. The producer suggests pairing it with olive-crusted lamb racks and chickpea salad. (Vintages panel, Sept. 2016) |
