Bright medium straw colour. Somewhat neutral, faintly honeyed, shy,, apple-melon puree nose with some slightly peppery notes plus a hint of sulphur. Very dry, medium-light bodied, spicy, faintly honeyed, apple-melon-lemon flavours with a faintly grassy, fairly high acid, unoaked finish. It’s ready-to-drink. Has 13.5% alcohol and 5 g/L residual sugar with a screwcap closure. TONY ASPLER / 88-points - Grassy, spicy, white pepper and yellow plum bouquet with a sulphur note; medium to full-bodied, herbal, Mirabelle plum flavour. Thanks to the Vintages Catalogue, we are told that this wine was awarded Double Gold, 98-points, Best of Region White and Best of Class at the California State Fair (no year mentioned). Meanwhile, the current average aggregated Wine Searcher Critics' score is only 87-points. You do not have to be a genius to quickly figure out which score is right.
