NEUFELD VINEYARD SAUVIGNON BLANC 2015 VQA Niagara Lakeshore, Niagara-on-the-Lake
Vintage Assessments Tasting Note Producer PALATINE HILLS
Bright pale straw colour. Intense, complex, slightly spicy, peachy, rhubarb-apple nose with some mineral notes. Fairly dry, medium bodied, quite well structured, somewhat honeyed, spicy, ripe melon-apple puree flavours with a fairly crisp, unoaked, mineral-tinged, rhubarb-tinged finish. An interesting Sauvignon Blanc that is not for everyone. Has 13.5% alcohol and 10 g/L residual sugar with a screwcap closure. CSPC 352344

TASTING NOTE: Visitors to Palantine Hills winery can experience a collection of carefully preserved War of 1812 artifacts, such as musket balls and crested medals, which have been unearthed from between the vineyard rows. This intriguing take on Sauvignon Blanc is a touch off-dry with grapefruit, apple and sweet grass leading to a pleasantly herbaceous finish. Pair with green curries, veggie sushi or grilled seafood.
