Vintage Assessments Tasting Note |
Producer |
13TH STREET |
Bright pale straw colour. Fairly intense, slightly spicy, gently honeyed, apple-lemon nose with some mineral notes. Dry, medium-light bodied, vibrant, ripe lemon-apple flavours with a lingering, tangy, very crisp, very faintly bitter, unoaked finish. Has 12% alcohol and 12 g/L residual sugar with a screwcap closure. Better than the 2014 (*+/**) released on March 18, 2017 at $19.95. |

TASTING NOTE: The nose is a bit muted and muffled at the moment, with a touch of sulphur in play, but the ripeness of 2015 shows with the peachy fruit, lemon and herbal notes. It's medium weight, just off-dry, lively and a touch fleshy. The length is very good. I would give it until spring 2017 to sort out a bit. Solid and balanced.
