CHAMPS MARTIN MERCUREY 1ER CRU 2014 AC |
Vintage Assessments Tasting Note |
Producer |
DOMAINE ADÉLIE |
Deep purple red colour. Slightly stemmy, peppery, dusty, plum-cherry-apple nose. Very dry, medium to medium-light bodied, tangy, peppery, dried apple plum-cherry flavours with a very crisp high acid finish. Not showing well. A pass for me, at least at moment. Has 13% alcohol and 2 g/L residual sugar. |

TASTING NOTE: Mercurey, the appellation, was named after the Roman temple built here to honour the god Mercury. This wine evokes the divine with its ethereal and complex array of oak spice, vanilla, red field berries and cherry. The structure is firm, the mouthfeel lithe and intense, and the finish crisp and smoky. Drink through 2023. (Vintages panel, Sept. 2016) |
