FLEUR DU PALAY CÔTES DU RHÔNE 2015 AP |
Vintage Assessments Tasting Note |
Producer |
CLOS DU PALAY |
Very deep intense purple colour. Slightly spicy, dusty, dried plum-apple nose with some sandalwood notes. Dry, medium to medium-light bodied, spicy, maturing, licorice-tinged, dried apple-plum flavours with a crisp, slightly resinous finish. Ready-to-drink. Has 14% alcohol and 2 g/L residual sugar. Tasted twice, II was not happy with this CdR. For my palate, you can safely ignore the 95-point tasting note appearing in the Vintages Catalogue. |

TASTING NOTE: This wine displays a heady nose of licorice, prune and bramble while the soft palate issues Morello cherry, and a hint of game, veneered by delicate oak. The assertive and grippy tannins extend the finish and shows elegance and fine winemaking. Score - 95 (Decanter World Wine Awards, 2016) |
