CORVINA VERONESE 2015 IGT Veneto |
Vintage Assessments Tasting Note |
Producer |
LA COLLINA DEI CILIEGI |
Fairly deep red colour. Spicy, unripe, apple peel nose. Dry, medium-light bodied, tart, peppery, unripe apple flavours with a crisp unoaked finish. Tasted once. I have no idea of what the Vintages panel tasted on October 2016 (as per the note in the Vintages Catalogue), but it sure wasn’t this bottling! Has 13% alcohol and 7 g/L residual sugar with lot number Lot7089 on the lower part of the glass bottle. Tasted once on July 14, 2017. |

TASTING NOTE: 'La Collina dei Ciliegi' translates as 'Cherry Tree Hill' and this wine is made from Corvina, the hero of Valpolicella wines that tends toward cherry flavours. This example hits the target with dark cherry, plum and raspberry wrapped in a soft, smooth texture. Pair with barbecued pizza topped with sausage and radicchio. (Vintages panel, Oct. 2016) |
