TENUTA ROCCA |
Ambering medium brick red colour. Slightly spicy, dusty, maturing dried plum nose with some sandalwood notes. Dry, medium bodied, quite well structured, bright, very gently cedary, baked plum flavours with a slightly dusty, sandalwood-licorice-tinged finish. Tasted once. Has 14% alcohol and 2 g/L residual sugar. TONY ASPLER / 91-points / TRY - Licorice, cherry nose; medium-bodied, dry, firmly structured; still tight but showing great breed. Hold five years. I liked this wine and this assessment was from a bottle that was not tasted by Michael. The 2011 (***) was released on October 29, 2016 at $38.95. |

TASTING NOTE: Aromatic herb, leather and camphor lead the nose. The firmly structured palate doles out red cherry, strawberry, white pepper and grilled sage alongside tightly wound tannins and bright acidity. An anise note closes the finish.
