LCBO Text Status
The River Junction was designated as an AVA in 2001, becoming one of the few California appellations that is home to a single producer. The McManis family successfully petitioned to have this area elevated to AVA status, thanks in large part to the unique composition of sandy loam soils located in the driest part of the delta created by the confluence of the San Joaquin and Stanislaus rivers. This tiny pocket also experiences temperatures that are, on average, 2-5 degrees cooler than neighboring areas - a fact that has a direct impact on the style of wine crafted here. The vineyard is planted with 90% Chardonnay and produces a wine that offers butter, apple, pear and peach. Perfect for grilled chicken. Price $ 19.95
