Extremely deep intense purple colour. Very spicy, baked cherry nose with some clove-tinged, vanilla sugar notes. Sweet, medium bodied, bright, tangy, very spicy, hot baked red cherry-apple flavours with a sweetish, vanilla stick, marzipan-tinged finish. Not my style. Ready-to-drink - try with BBQ ribs. Has 14% alcohol and 14 g/L residual sugar with lot number 18:03:45 L170331 on the capsule. The 2013 (*+) was released on August 6, 2016 at $16.95. TASTING NOTE: This wine is produced with Primitivo (aka Zinfandel) grapes selected from the area of San Marzano in the Salento region of Puglia, Italy's stiletto-boot heel. Sweet-ripe and smoky, it serves up big blueberry, blackberry, cherry, plum and chocolate notes. Pair with grilled burgers and blackened eggplant, and don't spare the garlic!
