Extremely pale straw colour. Attractive, slightly spicy, citrusy, faintly honeyed, ripe apple-yellow grapefruit nose. Dry, medium-light bodied, spicy, ripe apple-melon-lemon flavours with a lingering, very crisp, very effervescent finish. Has 12.5% alcohol and 10 g/L residual sugar. Better than when it last appeared in Vintages (**) on April 18, 2015 at $17.95 and was an Explorer Selection. |

TASTING NOTE: Toasty and refreshing with an expensive looking label which is always a plus at fancy get-togethers where you don't want to blow the budget but serve good stuff. White peach and melon and baked bread. The Alsace wine region is right next to Champagne, so it shares many similarities in climate and soil, and thus style. Pair with sushi and shellfish. Drink: 2014-2017. Score - 90 (Natalie MacLean, nataliemaclean.com, April 18, 2015) |
