Fairly dry, medium-full bodied, well structured, fairly dense, rather juicy, ripe plum-black cherry puree flavours with a lingering, bright, cedary, fairly high acid finish. Has 14.5% alcohol and 2 g/L residual sugar with a screwcap closure. TONY ASPLER / 89-points / BEST BUY - Spicy, herbal blackberry nose with vanilla oak; full-bodied, dry, fruity and firm with lively acidity. Terrific value here with lots of structure! |

TASTING NOTE: Made from a single vineyard, namely Tuck's vineyard in Bakers Gully, this wine won a Platinum Award and Trophy at the 2016 San Francisco Wine Challenge. It was hand-picked and spent 18 months in a combo of French and American oak. It's a round, robust, generous wine overflowing with blueberry jelly, blackberry and vanilla. Youthful tannins show on the finish. Pair with barbecued burgers or slow-grilled ribs and fennel. (Vintages panel, June 2017) |
