TASTING NOTE: The 2015 Alvarinho / Trajadura Pássaros Escolha is 70% Trajadura, the rest Alvarinho, unoaked and dry. It comes in at 12.5% alcohol. This has been one of my favorite bargains from Mendes as of late. This year it is arguably even better. Full-bodied for the region and the price level, this has fine structure and beautiful persistence on the finish. As it airs, it shows very tasty and succulent fruit. The juicy finish, showing fine tension, is going to work out well in warm weather. It's a super buy. You can knock this back for the next few years. Drink Date: 2016-2020.
