SAN JOSÉ DE AGUARÓN RESERVA 2012 DOP Cariñena
Vintage Assessments Tasting Note Producer MONASTERIO DE LAS VIÑAS
Extremely deep intense purple colour. Gently cedary, spicy, intense, plum nose with some cedar-sandalwood notes. Fairly dry, medium bodied, quite well structured, ripe plum-cherry-apple flavours with a high acid, sandalwood finish. According to the winery website this blend of 70% Garnacha, 20% Tempranillo and 10% Cariñena has 13.5% alcohol on the label (only 13% on the winery website) and 2 g/L residual sugar with lot number L170230 on the back label. TONY ASPLER / 88-points / BUY - Red licorice and red plum nose; medium-bodied, dry, firmly structured raspberry flavour with lively acidity. Seems very youthful for a 2012. The 2008 (**) was released on September 17, 2016 at $14.95. CSPC 166579

TASTING NOTE: Aromas of raw oak, related spice, vanilla and berry fruits lead to a fresh palate that's slightly choppy in feel. With its cherry, raspberry and oak flavors this blend of Garnacha, Tempranillo and Carignan blend finishes dry, spicy and steady.
