1924 DOUBLE BLACK RED BLEND 2015 California |
Vintage Assessments Tasting Note |

GNARLY HEAD |
Extremely deep intense purple colour. Very spicy apple sauce nose with some plummy-clove notes. Off dry, medium bodied, very spicy, plummy, apple-raisin pie flavours with a lingering, cedary finish. A truly odd tasting (at least for my taste), entry-level-inspired, crowd-pleaser. Has 15% alcohol and 11 g/L residual sugar with lot number L2170200809 on the lower part of the glass bottle. |

TASTING NOTE: The 1924 Double Black harkens back to the field blends that were popular during Prohibition, while 1924 is a nod to when the family first planted grapes. This is dark, fruit-forward and built to please with layers of blueberry, vanilla, cola and black tea tones. Tons of flavour and freshness. (Vintages panel, Nov. 2016) |
