ERDENER TREPPCHEN RIESLING SPÄTLESE 2010 Prädikatswein
Vintage Assessments Tasting Note Producer DR. HERMANN
Forward light yellow colour. Intense, sweet, attractive, slightly spicy, honeyed, ripe melon nose with some mineral notes. Sweet, medium to medium-light bodied, honeyed, intense, ripe melon-apple flavours with a lingering, crisp, faintly spritzy, harmonious finish. Has 9% alcohol and 82 g/L residual sugar with lot number APN 2602145711 on the back label. Screwcap closure and delicious to drink today! I do not agree with the note in the Vintages Catalogue that says “should be cellared for another ten years. Drink Date: 2025-2035.” TONY ASPLER / 93-points / BEST BUY - Old gold colour; petrol, honey and dried apricots on the nose; light-bodied, sweet, beautifully balanced, rich, honey and dried apricot flavours with a light spritz and great length. The recommended 2007 (**) was released on January 5, 2013 at $16.95. CSPC 181917

TASTING NOTE: Hermann's 2010 Erdener Treppchen Riesling Spätlese (AP #0711) is still in the market and offers a clear, intense and concentrated, lovely matured bouquet of ripe and baked apples with a touch of caramel. This is a mouthful of ripe, piquant and lush Riesling that still shows the nervy/racy, crystalline acidity of the vintage--and should be cellared for another ten years. Drink Date: 2025-2035. Score - 90+ (Stephan Reinhardt, robertparker.com, March 3, 2016) Price $ 20.95
