Founded in 1891, Wynns is one of Australia's most iconic and important wine estates. Coonawarra is Australia's southernmost wine region and is almost as famous for its unique terra rossa soils as for its wine. Cool ocean breezes make this region ideal for Chardonnay and Wynns has been producing this classic, intense and fruity expression since 1981. Look for a flinty affectation here, as well as a fine use of oak. This will be a great pairing for grilled chicken or shrimp. TASTING NOTE: A solid find with good acidic backbone and moderate oak treatment. Still substantial but with nicely restrained alcohol. Well defined, nicely cut an balanced with a harmony of flavours. Sophisticated. Score - 89 (Sara d'Amato, winealign.com, Dec. 8, 2016) Price $ 17.95
