Very deep purple colour. Slightly spicy, ripe plum-cherry-apple nose with some sandalwood notes. Dry, medium bodied, quite well structured, tangy, rather spicy, bright, ripe plum-cherry flavours with a lingering, crisp, gently cedary finish. TONY ASPLER - 89-points - Best Buy - Deep purple colour; savoury blackberry nose with a herbal note and well-integrated oak; medium to full-bodied, dry, savoury blackberry and black plum flavours with roasted herb notes; well-balanced with lively acidity, good mouth-feel and a long finish. TASTING NOTE: From the oldest Cotes du Rhone vineyard of the estate and harvested two to three weeks after the Premieres Cotes, the 2014 Cotes du Rhone Villages le Ponnant has lots of melted licorice, black cherry and peppery herbs in its medium to full-bodied, elegant, yet textured profile.
