PETITE SIRAH 2014 Lodi
Vintage Assessments Tasting Note Producer IRONSTONE
Extremely deep intense purple colour. Intense, slightly smoky, mocha-chocolate nose. Fairly dry, medium bodied, spicy, intense, plummy, mocha-chocolate flavours with a lingering, slightly smoky, harmonious finish. With the mocha-chocolate notes (hints of Cafe Culture), it’s a real departure from the past. The 2012 (*+/**) was released on April 26, 2014 at $17.95. TONY ASPLER: 87.5 - Dense purple colour; smoky, mocha and coffee bean nose; full-boded, spicy, sweet plum flavour with a cinnamon and clove finish. Commercial. Has 14.5% alcohol and 8 g/L residual sugar. Ready-to-drink. CSPC 361915

TASTING NOTE: Intense and concentrated blackberry flavors rise above thick tannins in this full-bodied wine. Aromas suggest boysenberry, smoke and clove, while the flavors taste more like blackberry jam. Although the texture is dense and tannic, it stays velvety rather than drying. This will be great now with ribs or roast venison, but will easily age through 2020. Best Buy. Score - 90 (Jim Gordon, Wine Enthusiast, March 1, 2016) Price $ 17.95
Bottle Size 750 mL
Tasting Date vintages release - April 16, 2016
