Extremely deep intense purple colour. Slightly spicy, baked plum nose with some mocha notes. Solid, dry, medium to medium-full bodied, slightly spicy, fairly extracty, baked, plummy-cherry flavours with a fairly high acid, very crisp, vanilla-tinged finish. Screwcap closure. TASTING NOTE: Very deep purple-black in color, the 2008 Durif (Petit Sirah) offers pronounced notes of prunes, dried mulberries and spice cake with a whiff of tilled loam. Full bodied and generously fruited, the palate yields very crisp acid and a medium level of velvety tannins, finishing long and spicy.
