NO. 99 VIDAL ICEWINE 2023 VQA Niagara Peninsula, Ontario
Vintage Assessments Tasting Note Producer WAYNE GRETZKY
Bright medium gold colour. Sweet, honeyed. spicy, somewhat tropical, pineapple-kiwi aromas with some creme brulee and Seville orange marmalade notes. Very sweet, medium-full bodied, intense, rich, spicy, Seville orange marmalade flavours with a lingering, very bright, refreshing, tea-tinged, caramel-peach nectar finish. Well balanced with just the right level of high acidity, this 2023 is showing very well. Note that 20% of the wine is fermented and aged in oak barrels for 9 months to build texture and complexity. It has 11% alcohol, 190 g/L residual sugar and a whopping 12.3 g/L total acidity with lot number 4129 on the lower part of the glass bottle. Very nice now, it will continue to evolve and improve over the next 20 years if stored at a cool temperature. CSPC 35414
