CABERNET SAUVIGNON ICEWINE 2017 VQA Niagara Peninsula, Ontario |

Assessed from a fresh bottle supplied by the winery after the LCBO erred and sold me a bottle of the 2015. It has a medium tawny red colour with a very attractive nose that is fruit focused, mostly ripe, plummy, warm strawberry pie and vanilla ice cream. Sweet, medium to medium-full bodied, well structured, harmonious, spicy, bright, ripe, sweet, rich, vanilla-driven, strawberry pie flavours with a lingering, bright, rhubarb crumble tinged finish. Quite delicious and actually showing better than when I last tasted it on Feb. 2, 2019. It has 11% alcohol and 198 g/L residual sugar with an extremely important hefty 10.4 g/L total acidity plus a NEW lot number 091719 on the lower part of the glass bottle. I strongly suggest that you open the box when purchasing to make sure that you are getting the correct vintage. |
