RIESLING ICEWINE 2004 VQA Niagara Peninsula |

A **/**+ Silver Medal winner in the 2006 Canadian Wine Challenge (the world’s largest, single vintage, comparative blind icewine judging). My notes read: Medium light yellow colour. Very tropical, fairly sweet icing sugar nose with some mango and sweet corn syrup notes. Fairly well structured, very sweet and spicy with rather tangy, tropical pineapple-guava flavours and a long, very faintly tinny, white pepper finish. |

A Silver Medal at the 2005 Canadian Wine Awards and a score of 90 from Jeff Davis of Wine Access magazine in December 2005 are just two of the accolades this exceptional honeyed peach and lemon scented and flavoured wine has received. Balanced by a seam of acidity, it is an excellent choice for rich desserts or cellaring until 2011. |
