| For the THIRD release in a row, the new Chateau des Charmes icewine release was not presented at the press preview. Tony Aspler sent me the following TASTING note: Fresh strawberry jam nose with a light cedary-floral note (having lost the herbal note I detected when tasted last year): well-balanced, sweet but not too sweet, honeyed strawberry, flavour, good mouth-feel with enough acidity to sustain well on the palate. Simply the best red Icewine I've tasted in Ontario. Has 10.9% alcohol and 175 g/L residual sugar with 489 cases of 6 produced. |
