Light reddish pink colour. Slightly sweet, gently honeyed, plummy, ripe apple-melon nose with some vanilla notes. Gently sweet, harmonious, medium-light bodied, ripe, plummy flavours with some apple puree notes and a lingering, very pleasant, fairly crisp, effervescent finish. Winner of a Gold Medal at the Wine Access 2011 Canadian Wine Awards. TASTING NOTE: ... It is delicious, a sparkling wine blended with a dose of cabernet franc icewine. It brims with slightly sweet strawberry, pear and peach flavours but finishes dry. Score: 90 (Gordon Stimmell, The Toronto Star, Aug. 12, 2009) |
