| In his Wine Lover's Diary for February 9, 2011, Tony Aspler scored this wine 92, but did not provide a written note. (tonyaspler.com) TASTING NOTE: Strawberry juice red with wonderful aromas of Christmas cake, wood smoke, blood orange marmalade and strawberry-rhubarb pie. Sweet with very impressive balance, and not just from the fine acidity. Staff has kept her residual sugar in line resulting in a sweet, delicious, divinely structured wine. Enjoy now with strawberry shortcake or, not surprisingly, with strawberry-rhubarb pie. You could also dribble a little over and with crêpes with berries. (Vintages panel, June 2011) |
