RIESLING ICEWINE 2004 VQA Niagara Peninsula |
Vintage Assessments Tasting Note |

INNISKILLIN |
Medium yellow colour. Very spicy, honeyed, sweet, baked ripe red apple nose with some caramel notes. This bottle tasted was rather pungent, very sweet and quite viscous with tropical-pineapple flavours. Seems to have evolved since last tasted. Residual sugar is 180 gr/l or 18%.

TASTING NOTE: This silver medal winner at the 2005 Canadian Wine Awards is another example of the impressive balance and elegance attained from riesling when it is left to freeze on the vine. Intense and fresh nose combines honey and sweet fruit with a few floral overtones. Expect an attractive blend of peach, honey and lemon sorbet flavours balanced on a cord of racy acidity. Well balanced with a long fruity finish. Drink 2006-2011. Score 90. (Jeff Davis, Wine Access, First In Line E-Report , Dec. 10, 2005) |
