CABERNET FRANC ICEWINE 2004 VQA Niagara Peninsula |
Vintage Assessments Tasting Note |
Producer |
Henry of Pelham |
Light reddish pink colour. Attractive, sweet, warmed, red candy apple nose with a touch of caramel. Quite delicious, fairly bright, somewhat light bodied, gently sweet, elegant, plummy, warm red apple purée flavours with a hint of smoky caramel on the finish. |

TASTING NOTE: The first cab franc icewine from Henry of Pelham catches the spirit of the genre with well defined redcurrant and strawberry jam fruit accented by peppery spice. It’s lighter weight icewine, with a soft, sweet mid-palate, then bolder finish of herbs and spices. Excellent length and focus. Score – 90. (David Lawrason, Wine Access, ‘First In Line E-Report’, Nov. 26 2005). VQA On Tour |
