CABERNET FRANC ICEWINE 2004 VQA Niagara Peninsula |
Vintage Assessments Tasting Note |
Producer |
Henry of Pelham |
Currently available in the LCBO. Thankfully, I received a sample from Henry of Pelham because the 200 ml bottle presented at the LCBO tasting was empty by the time got to it. Light reddish pink colour. Attractive, sweet, warmed, red candy apple nose with a touch of caramel. Quite delicious, fairly bright, somewhat light bodied, gently sweet, elegant, plummy, warm red apple purée flavours with a hint of smoky caramel on the finish. |

Tasting note: Deep rosé colour with intense dried cherry, strawberry, currant jam, orange and cranberry aromas. Full-bodied and sweet with ripe strawberry and rhubarb flavours as well as a ripe black plum note on the long finish. (Vintages panel, Sept. 2005) |
